1893

MS64

NGC 207721015

$185

Bart Chapman Collection.  The second of two dates for the Columbian Commemorative, the 1893 was issued in large quantity with over 1.5M business strikes. Many were later released into circulation, and you can find these popular pieces at coin shows without much difficulty when walking the floor. Housed in an early generation NGC holder, this coin is oh so nice for the grade, and displays unquestioned originality. Yes, I know there are loads of certified pieces at the assigned grade but this example way above the norm, with sharply struck features and  eye appeal. One of my favorites from Bart's collection. My images a bit darker than then when viewing in-hand. Priced accordingly for the offered quality. Choice.

Monroe Doctrine Centennial issue that's mostly a whitish coin with good luster. A few hits to the focal obverse portrait  account for the grade. Older NGC brown label. Reverse imagery of two females depicting North and South America is one of my favorites. Priced at the current PCGS Price Guide level representing fair value.  Market Acceptable. New 4/5

Bart Chapman Collection. This San Francisco  BTW commemorative exhibits lovely magenta obverse toning and lighter reverse toning that's more ice blue with accent slashes of gold. PCGS pop is 141 , just 33 graded higher.  Under light, a few light ticks to the left of the chin are noted. Much nicer in hand than my images. Very desirable with super eye appeal that accents the coin's features to the max. Gem.
