This 1848 Half Dime recently graded XF Details by CACG but that’s not the story here. This example is listed as coin #48 in the Clint Cummins Seated Half Dime Top 100 Varieties list as V-9 with Shattered Reverse #2 : E1 to C and Obverse with date far right. The date is decidedly far right with the 1 lined up below the RT in LIBERTY. The reverse with dramatic die crack that starts at the rim at 10 o’clock , runs through the E1, then through the bottom of the H, then downward to the M and finally works its way to C and the rim at 4 o’clock, WOW !  Half Dime variety specialists should certainly be advised to take note on this one. Although improperly wiped long ago, , this coin is quite attractive in hand. Cleaned. G
