Description

This 1849 No Motto Half Dollar exhibits pleasing fields with golden toning accents. This variety is WB-1, R4 which combines Obverse 1 and Reverse A. This is an EDS example with raised splotches of metal to the left  of the 1,4 and 9 in the date. The reverse shield shows 2 very thin vertical lines in the upper left and running slightly into eagle’s neck feathers. Nice selection for either the date, type or variety collector. A very small obverse darker spot noted for accuracy, not distracting to my eye.  Mintage of 1,252,00. Gem.
