The Columbian 1892 issue kicked off the Classic Commemorative series with a large mintage of 950,000 many of which found there way to circulation. This example totally original with nicely struck with bluish grey obverse toning complemented by a silvery golden reverse that shows much original underlying luster. The reverse rendering of the flagship Santa Maria is so appealing with the sails full as if moving through the ocean. More lustrous in-hand than my images and pretty to view under proper lighting. PCGS shows a population of 935 at this grade level with full FMV at $360. Lots of value here for the discerning collector. Gem.
