7-23-25 | 1857-O | MS64 | NGC 211229005 | $1,100 | New 7/23 This attractive 1857 New Orleans half dime is housed in an early Gen 4.0 holder (1989-92). Toning is a deep golden brown with accenting blue tones. The surfaces display good underlying luster, especially so on the reverse. V-1 with a die crack connecting the left stars and the reverse O mintmark slightly low, but not as low as V-2. Die erosion is noted below the base and to the right of the 7. A good candidate for re-holdering & variety attribution. Much nicer in-hand than my images. Attractively priced. Choice.

8-6-26 | 1850 | AU Details | PCGS 27930962 | $170 | New 8/6 This lovely Seated 1850 dime was deemed as Details by the TPG but quite frankly I'm not seeing it. No hairlines observed on either the obverse or reverse, just light blemished consistent with an AU. Good underlying luster. The obverse is bluish golden toned, the reverse more bluish grey. If I assigned a numeric grade it would be conservatively be AU53. Possibly worthy of a re-submission attempt. Details

7-10-26 | 1860 | AU53 | PCGS 56502200 | $1,100 | New 7/10 The 1860 Seated half with its' business strike mintage of 302,700 is scarce in all grades and eagerly sought by series collectors. The presented example is with the Type 2 reverse hub, this distinction with extended base of the L in HALF from the upright. This example with just a hint of rub and appears technically stronger than the assigned grade. Miss Liberty's flowing hair detail is quite full, as is the reverse eagle's feather and shield lines. Luster is also vibrant. There is just a bit of blemish to the left of stars 10-13, this probably accounting for the grade. The PCGS population shows 33 for the grade and a suggested price of $475. So why so great an ask spread ? A deep dive will show that the last appearance at auction was 2020 and prices appear to be considerably lagging the current marketplace. Reasonable offers are welcome. Later die state with scattered reverse die cracks noted from the rim to legend and arrow tips. Original toning. Choice.
